If i remember correct i had a similar problem once, i've installed newest Drivers and everything was solved.
Install newest DirectX and Framework 1.1 as well.

I recommend Omega Drivers

I already have DirectX 9c Installed (I think its the last version)

The Video Drivers are no more then a month old (ATI)

I have not got Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 installed and I'd rather
not install it unless its necessary. I remember installing it a while back and it gave me some grief, I had to reinstall Windows.

I would not have expected the 1.1 framework to be installed in order to run Freelancer.

Personally, on your freelancer cd, is a load of files and help stuff. I'd give that a quick read to see if it mentions any issues. Whilst I do not know of a fix for this (in normal Freelancer, although it occurs in modded freelancer when someone cocks up the inforcards), if you do find one - then it'd be nice to know the solution!

Problem solved.

I've downloaded "msxml3.msi(SP5)" from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en.

After installing it, the HTML/XML code is gone.

There is a version of "msxml3.msi" on the Freelancer CD and after reading somewhere on these forums that installing it would fix the text I tried it,
however the version off the CD did NOT fix the problem.

I hope this will help other people with the same problem, after fixing the Text
problem and some Sound issues Freelancer is looking a different game.
