Multiplayer crashes

Before my MP would freeze at "Connecting to Global Server..." and would go no further. I tried setting permissions and several other things. Now it just crashes to the desktop before it even tries to "Connect to Global Server..."
I don't have any mods and don't have the patch installed.
I've beaten the SP several times and would like to try the MP but I just can't. All help would be appreciated. (SP does get boring after a while)

You have a bought version of the game correct?

I would say uninstall FL first, and then reinstall straight from the disk... I haven't ever heard of anyone crashing trying to connect to MP before...

After that- I would suggest checking that you have Direct X installed (most recent version), and ensure drivers are up to date.
You don't mention whether you can play SP by the way, can you?

I can play SP, and now I've started modding it. I'll try reinstalling it. Get back to you on that.

If you started modding it, that is most likely your issue. A clean install will probabily work fine - but remember to delete the save games etc.

It crashed, therefore I modded, to make the game interesting and new. I did a reinstall whilst keeping my saved games last night and it then proceeded to crash as it made it to the main menu. I am now reinstalling it while deleting my saved games. Again, I'll get back to you on that.
