FLMODs download as regular ZIPs

Hello, its been a really long time since I played FL, but now I'm getting back into it. I got the latest version of FLMM (1.31?), but now, whenever I download a MOD archive, it downloads as a regular ZIP file. I really have no idea what could be causing the problem. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks,
Kahn

Some download as a FLMM type zip file, while others look like a traditional zip file. Can you still double click on it and get it to install? And do you have FLMm already installed?

No, when i double click it does not install, and yes I have FLMM installed.

add .flmod to the .zip extension on the file then you can open it with mod manager,if it's a valid mod with a /data path in it it will install

That worked but when it installed I got this:

Unable to load mod!
Parsing error on line 4125: No </data> found (in 'C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Chips Open SP version\script.xml')
Parsing mod script...
Found mod: C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Chips Open SP version

Thanks,
Kahn

the parsing error is a problem with the mod's script file missing the </data> tag.
just redownload the file to get an uncorrupted copy
