help with installing?

hi, when i install Freelancer on My Windows Me Pentium 800 with Geforce 2 mmx i get the following msg

"c:\windows\system\regsvr32.exe /s c:\windows\system\13codec.acm"

I have updated my media player and downloaded new codecs but when i launch the game i get only a black screen that i cann't exit from, to leave i have to turn off the computer

can anyone please help, i am not running any mods/patches

try installing the no-starting-videos mod via FLMM(its included if i remember correctly),that will stop the videos from playing(which is annoying anyway,so why not get rid of them) & hopefully fix your crash\lockup.

what u need is the " Indeo codec ", without "ME" can crash

thanks, i'm going to look for that and will give it a shot, i tried the no story mod in mod manager, no joy, apprieciate the help though, will let u know if it works
