sp missions crash!! help!

scene: im at misson 5 i think and im told to escort walker and his cruiser freinds to some base in a ice cloud in the california system, then, disaster.
I get a blue screen(not screen of death) that says some thing about a virtual memory dump (i know its a memory dump but forget what is before that) it counts down from 10 then restarts the computer leaving it unharmed.
this doesn't hapen in a set location of the game, it could be when i join formation with walker or sometimes i actualy get into the ice cloud.

before the setuop it does tell me i need a pentium 2 or higher but i got some laptop thats better than that, and it tells me it doesnt like my graphics gard at the start.
before i buy a new card is there any other way out of this?
thanx

Could be something with directX. You got dX.9.0c ??

You may also try to change your settings.
Use a savegame older than Auto-Save, probably from the start from California Minor (?? - whatever station/planet it is).
Now change your settings to 800x600 and minimal details, deactivate all sound options in your menu-options; play the mission. If this works you can try with normal settings after the barrera-passage.
