Hey, i meet all the recommended system requirements for Freeland, and it runs half speed, ive tried changing settings, closing all programs that dont need to be run to no effect.

My system specs:

1Ghz Intel Celeron processor
64 mb geforce mx video card
256 mb ram
Windows XP

Please help me!

Can you up grade your ram? You definantly need more. What all of the settings in the game did you turn down or off?

As far as ram goes, if you can get to at least 512, it should help a little.

this sounds like a driver or direct x problem to me / personally i've ran freelancer in low resolution on 550mhz KII's with 256mb of ram with the same card,so the problem shouldn't be there.I would suggest trying to change the resolution to something lower in your options and see if that doesn't help, freelancer may have over estimated your card's abilities and put it on a clunky resolution(and resolution is the #1 performance impactor) - if that doesn't do it it's time to reinstall your video driver, find and follow some good explicit instructions on how because geforce's have a nasty habit of not uninstalling properly(hint:its easier to change your adaptor in display settings before uninstalling the geforce's drivers)and if that didn't work you have either a direct x problem(unlikely but try reinstalling directx from the FL cd)or worse an XP problem - XP registry & driver problems is easiest to solve with a complete reinstall but short of that run all your utilities(norton windoctor etc, antivirus & malware scanners, defrag)

hope this helps, your computer should run FL fine(at a low resolution) is all I know for sure.

yeah, turning down your screen rez always helps

if your computer is still fussy and you dont care about graphix too much you could turn down the color from 32 to 16 bit, massive improvement there

if your game is really slow nt glitchy but slow i've noticed with alot of Celeron Systems that heat is the biggest issue with higher end games check your CPU fan make sure it is clean and functioning properly,, the ram is Adequate but 512 would be an improvement for your PC for more than just Games i would highly recomend increasing it too.. hope this helps

Also, all the suggestions are good, but you should upgrade to a 128 mb video card. That would really help. I have a geforce FX 5200 with 256 mb and i have my settings at the best they can get with 1160 x 1024 or something like that. Hope that helps.

Ctrl+alt+del - and check out your task list. Is anything eating up your CPU all the time? Turn off any extraneous background bumph - as you should only have an at rest CPU usage of 2-5% max. What is eating it up? If nothing - then follow what others say

The Geforce MX's cant handle 32 bit very well, and thats probably where you'll be having trouble. try 800x600x16 or 1024x768x16 if you really want detail.
