Massive Addon MOD

This may not be the correct forum to post this, but it appears "someone" has cleaned out quite a bit of info here.

I been playing FL since day one. I have the new FLMM, DataStorm, sheesh, I could go on.

I only today DL'd the Massive Addon MOD and am so pumped to play it.....

Unfortunately, it appears to crash after only 5-10 minutes of game play. one would be flyingh along the trade lane minding their own business and try to dock, and then it drops to the desktop out of the clear blue.

I saved every inch of the way on every dock, but it seems to be more related to time use than load-outs.

I mean, sheesh, I'm still in the NY system. Haven't even gotten to the next mission from Juni after the Pittsburgh crap for crying out loud.

Before you start screaming about my dog puter, I'm running 1.5 ghx P4, 380+ RAM, 64 MB Geforce2 card.

Technically, this should scream.

Ok, I should modify my system crash parameters.

It wasn't based on docking in reality, it was going after the cargo from the cardamine wreck in the badlands (the only money in NY worth the trouble).

Even after deactivating the Speed MOD and starting the WHOLE game over again, the same thing happened. I subsequently and successfully went to and through Sol, Sicilia, and Trinsun systems completely without a hitch.

But that cardamine wreck just drops the whole game out. is that a DATA issue?

Now I am going to add the speed MOD back on again and just avoid that cargo retrieval.

(sigh)

And here I actually needed the money...LOL.

Hi, ive just installed the Massive Mod from a PCGamer disc. I seem to be also having the same problem. I thought it was just my computer breaking up (as it is doing) but it seems not.

the whole system freezes 5mins into the game - really annoying.
If it is the mod then it is a great shame.
havent tried without the masive mod so i will do that.

Someone in another thread had mentioned a bug with NY system waypoints in FMA.

I have come to the conclusion that is exactly what is causing the crash.

In running the regular SP mission mode play, when you hit your level point and Juni needs you to report back to Manhattan, the game crashes at where I believe the auto-waypoints get pegged to the trade lanes.

I even went so far as to track it into California as well. When Juni calls you back to Manhattan, the auto-waypoints get attached fine, but as soon as you cross over to NY via the gate, the crash occurs again.

At this point (with full reinstall of both FL, SDK, and the FMA mod), and the crash still ocurring, I am afraid I am at a loss to figure out a way around this one.

Shame too, this looked really good. :-(

I think the whole mod is the problem. I had problems with it without any storyline.

When you try and deactivate the mod it doesnt work, so I had to reinstall freelancer. I tried with another mod and its fine - never freezes.

If you want try another good mod called Rebalance 3.20. No new systems but literally tons of ships, including star wars and wing commander. Try it.
