Question about 1.4 patch

I recently installed he unofficial 1.4 patch, but the thing is, how do I know if I installed correctly? When I load up the game it displays it as version 1.0 (even though I had previously updated to 1.1), is this correct?

The version number doesn't change. The way you can tell is if you look at the ? over mineable fields in the nav map and it tells you what commodity can be mined there.
