Piloting Problems

I just downloaded the Freelancer demo, and while I like it, I found the mouse piloting really hard. It almost seemed like the ship moved way too fast and it was hard to dogight cause I couldent control the ship well at all. Is there anyway to adjust the mouse speed to make things go a bit slower?

I am pretty sure that if you start the game up, then at the menu screen select the options, that you can turn down the mouse sensitivity there.

I don't know if the general windows settings may affect it too - which are under your start menu -> Control panel -> Mouse
