Sound issues

I have had the game for a while and stoped playing a while ago, however when I try to play now, there is no sound.

I have tried all of the fixes listed, and I can't seem to get it to work, everytime I try to instal the file on the freelancer cd that is supposed to fix the problem, I get an error that says it cannot register a certan DLL in the system 32 folder.

help?

oh and I get the error code 0x80004005 every time I try to register it, It won't even let me register it manualy, help!

Edit: the dll is called wmvdmod.dll
