meamary help new copmputer.?

hi im making a new compiter. i have a 256mb memaore modlea at 333mhz. if i buuy a 400mhz 512 meamory stick will it work. i just what to make sure the speed of the two differnt sticks doesnt kill the computer.

your ram doesn't necessarily have to be the same size ... But it does have to be the same speed ...

No, it doesn't even have to be the same speed... but it will only run as fast as the slowest DDR on the motherboard.

Also, make darn sure that your motherboard's compatible with 400Mhz DDR before buying/installing... trying to use too-fast DDR can cause your machine to lock up...

well the mobo im puting this stuff on will take it cuz im buying a new one. i jsut whated to make sure the speed of them would not make a diffrence. so you posative they will work right???
