help with random lock ups!

when i play freelancer single or online, it will completely lock up my computer at random, sometimes i will play for hours then it locks up, sometimes it locks up straight away... i have to turn my comp of at the wall to restart... does anyone know why it's doing this?

i'm running these:
Geforce 2 titanium
P42.0ghz
256mb ddr
and some intergrated sound card

6 x Kraken type 2 = dead

What OS are you running?

XP HOME EDITION gives problems for a lot of people with Freelancer, in my personal experience and my humble apologies to Microsoft who worked hard on XP HOME.

Is anything else running in the background, like a comm program like MSN?
Do you use Kazza?
Do you have a spyware sweeper? If not, get one.

I'm using Home XP, but this problem never used to happen, i dont run kazaa, close msn and used spyware and still it locks up:S
