Changing you User ID.

I want to change the user ID on a second system so I can access the same characters in the MP enviroment that I have on my primary system.

Any ideads how to do this?

Click start button
Then run
Type Regedit
move to this drectory

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\\freelancer\1.0

and delete these keys

Installkey
MpAccountname
MpAccontnamesig

close regedit window.
Start up FL and go to multiplayer and the game will ask for your number

Does this method work for windows ME? I followed your directions but when I went into the "Microsoft Games" directory, there was no freelancer sub-directory.
I tried uninstalling the game and the reinstalling and restarting the computer. Nothing seems to work. Please help!!!.

try typing "freelancer" in the search button inside the regedit tool to search the registry?

I did try doing a search for the whole address but I havent tried searching for just freelancer. I'll post the results later, one way or another

No luck. I did a search for freelancer and found a bunch of references but no key or vale that matches what was described. The closest thing I found was this value under the heading ID: "FREELANCER.EXE3E401B79002DDE04". Any body else have a suggestion?

Yes, but no one is going to tell you.
The only real reason to change your ID is to get back onto server you have been banned from.

Excuses such as "no my account got currupt" will not work, contact the admin.

If people did post how to change your ID at will, it would be as bad as the cloak.

I haven't been banned from any servers. I don't want to change my ID or get my old one back I just want to be able to connect to multiplayer.

i just want my old saved games back and i forgot to put in my id i just let it generate one after i reinstalled windows. so you who thinks he knows what he is talking about think again DA
