How do I connect to the global server

I need help!!
I cant connect to the FL global server, I have a fresh install of the game but it wont connect. I have a 56k modem. Can you give me some tips. Also I am a newb

There is a stickied post up above - about SP2 and firewalls.. Also - search the forum for more information too
