computer crashing when going thru jumpgate

I've got huge problem. And it involves only one aspect in game: jump gates.
I have XP2600+ with 768 mb DDR ram and radeon9600XT and i've tried everything i can think of to get rid of this problem, even slowing my computer down, and slowing graphics card, all this in vain. So, to take it shortly: Everytime i fly thru jump gate, it goes fine until i get to part after loading. It just crashes within that wormhole, restarting whole computer. I'm clueless, and i'm begging help from those who are better than i am at these things...

Have you been attempting to mod the game or is this a fresh install?

If its running a mod/has run a mod recently - see the tutorials forum, where i made a thread on troubleshoooting mods and crashes - which includes jumpgates crashes - telliin you what is wrong.

If not - then reinstall, update drivers...etc etc etc

i have reinstalled it, dled drivers, even put sdk pack. No help. But, i might take a look at that tutorial... and pardon me once (ok, several times) more, but where's this tutorial, seems i'm going to be in eternal debt if that helps. (Drivers didn't, clean .ini files didn't, reinstall didn't... curse my radeon 9600XT, i know it's it's fault, game worked without problems with my old gf4 mx440..)

yup, that problably the 9600xt, i use a 9500pro and when i go trough tradelanes or jumpgates i have massive drop on fps, the game crashes or i get a error from the windows xp recovery system abouth my card.

btw sugestions how to fix it would be nice

it is really annoying... it doesn't slow me down (or it does, but i don't notice/care) on trade lanes, but rebooting computer every time going thru jump gate, and then warping randomly inside the sector... that, is really troubling. i guess i'm not seen in map in my current mp game, wouldn't be first time...

Managed to get it work, though i have to use cockpit view. no problem anymore, after i reinstalled, thank you for advice
