can''t connect the to global server HELP ME!

Hi. This has probably been talked to death but anyways. I was having troubles with MP so I did some stuff(made a big mistake) and I finally got it to work but when I get on it says connecting to global server... and it never does. My internet is working normally, I can play games like Halo, Warcraft 3, etc. I just can't get onto the server for some reason. Assistance would be appreciated.

Oh yeah I almost forogt. Telling me to input commands, install new devices , etc. won't help very much because I know nothing about computers.
