corrupted file

My game stopped working after i downloaded and used a faulty mod, and after trying to reinstall a few times i found somehow a specific file has become corrupted on my cd. (I have absolutely no idea how that can happen). It's in the cab2.rar file under bases and its called li_sci_console.3db. I think if i could get a new file off someone else i could maybe get it to work properly again. Any info or links to where i could get one would be much appreciated.

Sorry, chap. Not many people will be able to help ya. Uploading ANY full-version files are ILLEGAL and is PUNISHABLE by FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW... Which aint exactly healthy for your wallet or your mental state. They say people go crazy after being stuck in prison.

Try reinstalling, but I wouldn't count on people sending you that file, unless you have legimate proof that you DID purchase it legally... Then again, asking Microsoft could be easier.

Sorry I can't help

Huh?

A file got corrupted on your ... CD ?

That's not only very odd, that an impossibility.
Unless you have your game on a CD-RW (which means it's a copy of the original ... illegal or otherwise), it's just not possible.

And even if it's on a CD-RW, even then I question the possibility of a file getting corrupt on the CD.

No, if you're serious, the problem has to lie somewhere else.

There's another thread tackling a similar problem here. I'll say the same here - the only way I can think of for a file on the cd to be corrupted is for it to be scratched
