Freelancer Troubles

I have an NVidia GeforceFX 5600. When I load Freelancer I get an error telling me that it doesn't know what my 3D card is. I click yes and the game runs fine except for a few problems:

1. Craches at random
2. Explosion FX of ships don't happen.
3. Jumpiness.

I have 256 MB of Video card memory and an Intel 3.00 GHz Processor.

Please, I need help.

I have the latest drivers for the card and Direct X 9.0b.

Hi there,

I have exacly the same problem with my Graficcard (I just have the Radeon 9600 XT, 256 MB RAM) ... Is there a patch or update which fixes this problem ??
Freelancer perhaps doesn't support DirectX 9 ?

I need help please ..

First of all, does the card work with other games ok? and also Direct X 9b has a habbit of being very ... well rubbish (not MS bashing) and i have seen a lot of people having trouble with it and they have the latest cards!! Try Direct X 9 (with no "b" and also make sure it isnt any of the mods that you may have running that are causing the crash. Freelancer is compatible with Direct X 9 it askes you to install it in setup!
If all else fails re-install FL or its a hardware issue at my best guess.
