FL problems Episode III

Right...I got my disk back so I Uninstall/reïnstalled FL. The problem is, it wont work unmodded.
Second, I still can't connect to the global server when I use Chips mod. I posted on his forums about this.

So, anyone has any bright ideas on both subjects?

Edit: Damn spelling.

Ok, it's been like 4 days now. Nowbody has an answer?

Then maybe you can answer this, rather easy question. How do I go back from DX9.0b to DX9? I kinda think that's the prob. Things went wrong after I installed 9.0b and it's the only adjustment I made to my commy. So anyone?

try installing to a different directory, or delete the current 1, just make a note of your account number first

Contrary to what others might think, you can not backtrack DirectX versions without reinstalling the OS. The tools out there that claim to do just that do not work...at least not for me.

not even a system restore? ie, restore to a previous date?

I was planning on such a thing anyway. Might be best if I did. all the modding screwed up my comp. But still, I'd rather find a sollution. Who knows hwo else runs/ran into this problem.

I had the same problem with chips's mod, but i could find a way around, FL crashes everytime i try to connect.
As for DX, you cant revert back to an earilier version for some wierd and wacky reason and i also had trouble with DX 9b but i had to re-install XP and no system restore does not (as far as my experience goes, which is not much ) let you go back to your origional settings.
modding.... have u tried the restore backups in FLMM? (st00pid question)
or un-install FL and delete any and all registry entries it leaves. It may help, it worked for me, i dunno about you! Give it a whirl!
