Can''t get mission 3 (next level req is STUCK) FIXED!

I've read all of the replies here to problems with starting mission 3. The answer is always about the Next Level Requirement being how much more you need to earn. However, my "Next level Requirement" has been stuck at $29,186 for the past $85,000 or so.

From my Player Status window:

Current Level: 4
Current Worth: $103,342
Next level Requirement: $29,186

I have gone to the bar in Manhattan. I have gone to California Minor. No Juni anywhere.

Don't tell me that I need to earn $29,186 more. That is not the problem.

well the earning of the 29k is the key , however since it is not moving my first question is , did you install the 1.1 patch , if so you are S.O.L since it screws up the levelling system , your best bet if you did is re-install freelancer from scratch and see if that works , if it doesn't try loading an older saved game and see if that solves your problem

Thank you, your suggestion helped me figure out how to fix it. I had indeed installed the 1.1 patch. I think the message needs to get out more that 1.1 is very, very bad for beginners playing the single player campaign.

Anyway, the fix was very painless. Rather than reinstall from scratch and lose my saved games, I just did a Reinstall from the CD. Logged in, I was still level 4 with $103,000 or so. The next thing I did that changed my net worth (tractoring in loot from a pirate) triggered level 5!
