custom soundtrack

go ahead and call me an idiot but I haven't stumbled upon the "Forum Search" button, yet! (edit: hey! I just RTFF! lol)

So anyways, I would like to know if there is a way to add my own soundtrack to FL. I know, I know--that's what winmedia (et. al.) is for, but I think it would be really cool to have Ride of the Valkyries kick in during a combat music fade-in just as I am silent-cruising into an enemy's base. (edit: erm, well I guess the silent cruise thing with RotV blaring would sorta defeat the purpose, according to the movie, but hey--you can't hear sound in space....umm, right? hehe)

Or perhaps I could add some of that ambient stuff from MP3.com. Oh--I wonder if it's too much trouble to directly link the game's soundtrack to one of those XM stations... now I'm getting carried away! hehe Thanks!

Create .wav files from the tunes you want to play and copy them to the Freelancer\data\audio\music folder

then find the file music.ini and unpack it with BINI

change the names of the files with the ones you want to play at certain moments
