mp account id

i am running the fl server on one of my machines and play on another, after a horrible virus episode and much file swapping i have different account ids and can no longer access my mp save game, is there a way of changing the id on either machine or do i have to start from the beginning again?. i wanted to avoid re-installing because i bought a copy on day of release in a badly designed box that scratched the t.o.c. on the cd and PCWORLD (curse them) refused to exchange it.

there is what you do is with the serverr not running:

1. find the folder with your characters.
2. copy that folder to somewhere safe, you'll need those later.
3. then delete the folder Not the copy.
4. run and join the server and make some new characters with the exact same name's this is case sensitive.
5. close the server, find the folder that was made with your new characters, and then delete each .FL file but not the name file, then replace them with the copies you made.

Then your characters should be back
