internet connection

i am having trouble with connecting to the servers...does any one know what port Fl uses??

i have win Xp pro and with MS updates i dont know what they have done with security..

i was able connect previously...even on my adsl modem...

but now it seems to jam my adsl modem connected to the network card!

help please

the read me that comes with fl reads

"Freelancer uses the standard DirectPlay ports, so your firewall needs to pass UDP ports 2302-2304 to the server machine."

some of those security updates from MS are problematical to say the least. check add/remove programs to see if u installed Q811493, if so uninstall it, the security hole it fixes is also fixed by later incremental updates but that patch sloooooooooooooowwws ur network activity right down to the point u can't connect properly.
