Textures fuzzy!

Hey everyone, I've just reinstalled the game after taking a break from it for a while and I've realised something really weird... all the textures are so fuzzy! In all the screenshots they're pretty crisp and impressive - even at a distance - the game looks great. But on my install its erally fuzzy and there's some pretty obvious and ugly changes between them as I get near another ship - I have to be right on top of it to see the good looking textures that I'm so used to! Also the models change their shape as I get closer/further from them - but at a distance where it's really obvious that they're doing it and it's very offputting!

How can I fix these problems and make the game look more like this: http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/art/fl/large/katana.jpg
And less like it's had a blur 'o cam fitted over my head whenever I play? Cheers!

Oh, my systems specs:

Windows XP Pro
AMD Athlon 2600+
768MB DDR RAM
40GB Hard Drive
DVDROM & CDRW Drives
Videologic Sonicfury Sound Card
MSI GeForce4 4600 Ti 4xAGP

I hope someone can help!

You have probably a low detail setting in your videocard driver..
Right-click on your desktop, and select "Properties"
On the page for your videocard driver, click the advanced button
On the page for the GeForce card, select the Direct3D settings, and set detail for MipMap to either Best or High.
That should do it...

Well, don't I feel foolish! That fixed it all, thanks very much for your help
