Problems with Gforce 4

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

Problems with Gforce 4

Iv'e just bought this game

I can get it to work on my PC in the office (not particularily popular with my boss!) which has a 32 mb Riva

But I can't get it to work on my pc at home. I have enough resources (2.66 Ghz CPU, 512 mb Ram, 64mb GForce4 Graphics card)

It just keeps on telling me that it cannot detect any 3d hardware... which is a load of tosh, FS2000 has no probs detecting it.

I've downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers, the latest version of DirextX (9a) and the latest critical updates.

Well.. I tried everything... eventually the whole PC went back for a refund... 3 major failures (HDD, PSU and eventually ML.

Dell P4 2.2ghz PC on order with a GFX5200... older card, so it should be picked up by FL... I hope...

Wouldn't it be nice if there was an industry standard card that all developers used?

Yea, it would be nice. Especially if it was the newest Radeon card =)

I got Freelancer a while ago, and was happy with it, but slighty annoyed in that i couldn't see anything inside nebula's, not even my own ship. Then, i see the game at friends place and am amazed that they can see their own ship in a nebula, and in the later missions, can see the target ( no spoilers here, but the missions include the aliens).

i have a P4 1.8 Ghz machine, 256 Ram, and a Nvida GeForce4 MX 440 graphics card. any suggestions as to what the problem is?

I'm Sorry, But I can't talk right now, There's two Screamers on my tailpipe.

Ensure you also have DirectX 9b. The latests drivers from NVidia do not like DierectX 9
