What does that hud icon do?!?

Ok, sorry if this isn't the right place to ask. But there is this icon on the hud I cannot find out what it does.
The icon in question is located left to the 4 navigation ones. It looks a lot like the missile warning icon and also is only there occastionally. I assume it is some kind of warning as well. I just cannot figure out what it warns about. Also doesn't seem to be part of the manual...
TIA for any info on it.

It is an incoming missile warning icon.

It does only come on occasionally (normally when someone has shot a missile in your direction, and is accopanied by a voice saying "incoming missile"

And no, you cant click on it.

Just my $0.02, but it could just be the cardamine talking.

Please reread my post. I am not all that dumb

I am referring to the icon on the LEFT of the maneuver ones. I know the right one is the missile indicator. But what does the very similar looking one to the left do?

i've seen it too.. only on the first mission though? no idea what its for.

the one on the right is the missile alert....

the one on the left is an alert to let you know you are now in someones crosshairs....time to start dodging....

There's an icon to the left as well? Hmm... never noticed it.
