fl crashes to desktop randomly over and over again

Sometimes it crashes 5 minutes in the game, other times 30 minutes. I'm running:

P4 2.4C HT
Abit IS7-E
Corsair XMSPC3200C2
Geforce3 Ti200 @ 44.03 Dets
SB Audigy @ hacked Audigy2 drivers

I would be playing and freelancer crashes back onto desktop with freelancer still in taskbar. The sound is still playing but I can't alt-tab in. The only thing I can do is its process. In addition, dxdiag is running the background. I've read the other forums saying to disable 3d sound, disable hardware acceleration, I've done those in dxdiag, in sound properties, turned off sound effects, turned off cmss 3d, turned off anything sound related. Is there anything I can do before I turn off the audigy completely in device manager so that it will stop crashing. Oh and sometimes I get BSODs from Freelancer ie 0x0000005 and 0x0000008, page fault in non-paged area and driver irql not less or equal. BTW, I also get BSODs listening to music, so I'm leaning towards the Audigy being the culprit.

Try this...

Go in your BIOS setup and turn "External Cache" off.

There is no option for turning off external cache in my BIOS (Phoenix/Award BIOS). I don't even have external cache.

Ouch, that's what fixed it for me. Perhaps it's about cache too; just a track.
Sorry.
Plus, I don't know your sound card, and you have arguments for it too.......

Make sure you have disabled things such as Video Bios Cachable and things of the sort.

Video BIOS and computer BIOS caching is disabled by default. I think it's my memory actually. I think I'm running it too fast.

What motherboard are you running? I know it's ABIT but what chipset is that?

See if you can get proper updated drivers for the audigy, I had roughly the same problem and errors coming up and fixed them by updating my SB live value drivers to the latest ones.

Chipset is i865pe.

These Audigy drivers have been stable before I've played freelancer with them without a problem with these exact same audigy configs so I don't know what's wrong.
