Problems with rising a level in SP

Hi
I had a problem with rising in levels in SP. I was on level 15 and the level requirement was around 100k. I took missions so I at last had over 360k.
Then I it came to my mind that I had upgraded Freelancer with the patch (server patch) and I tried to uninstall it. After reinstalling the game, I bought and sold a commody - and now I was at level 16 and ready for the next mission.
The point is to not use the patch in the middle of a SP-game.

You can use a patch in the middle of a game sometimes it fixes errors that may occur, but you do have to be aware that sometimes thing will change, it is always a good idea to read the readme files that come with the patches

Lvl 9 req - 52K
Current worth val - 100K

I have yet to recieve the next level, and I've tried everything - I've even tried getting my total credits to the req amount. Also, if yuour going to suggest buying commodities at outrages prices, that didn't work either. However, I am not sure what you mean by using a patch in the middle of the game. (NOTE: I isntalled the 1.1 patch, but the game still says v1.0 in the lower right corner)

I too installed the 1.1 patch and am now stuck on level 8. I will try uninstalling and reinstalling the original without the patch and see if that helps. Is there any trick to the buy/sell commodities thing? Do you have to buy and sell something specific or a certian amount?

Someone had suggested buying commodities that were marked with a red square for some reason, can't remember why exactly.

OK, I have sucessfully advanced to level 9 and then 10. Here's what I did.
- Uninstall freelancer, do NOT remove savegame information.
- Install freelancer.
- buy commodity. I just bought something that was yellow and only a quantity of 1.
- Exit commodity window, level up. I then re-sold the same commodity.

It would seem that the 1.1 patch is the culprit.
