Game Freezes while Playing

I finally went back to playing Freelancer yesterday, and I played on the jolt.co.uk server. But something happened that never happened to me before. On three occasions while playing, the game just...froze.

By that, I mean everything suddenly pauses and I hear the last half-second of sound repeated in a loop (like the crash of a console game). I also have no control, so I have no choice but to manually reboot...that's considered a hard crash isn't it? Though when I restart and rejoin, I appear in the EXACT spot when it froze, which is nice.

My next question is, what have you changed since then, have you upgraded drivers, O/S patches, etc. If something has changed you may want to undo whatever that change was, and of course backup everything

I think the only thing that's different is the video driver. Though when I played on the server last night, it didn't crash once. It might have been something I downloaded when I used that Windows Update, but it looks like the problem might be gone.

If the problem happens to resurface, I'll just post another message here. In the mean time, I'm off to play Freelancer
