Game Freeze While Playing SP

Sometimes, while I play singleplayer my game will stop. The music and sound effects still play but everything comes to a halt. After a few minutes the screen might go black, or just show stars, or just sit there.

I have the patch installed but it hasn't really helped that much. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh wait is that cargo yours? Well too bad, its mine now.

Hmm, if I put the disc in and then start Freelancer with the quick icon then it doesn't freeze. So I guess I solved my problem... sorta :
