Multiplayer Problem

I'm not usre whether this belongs here, so I'l post it twice, but upon trying to connect to the Freelancer global server, nothing happens, and it just says "Connecting to Global Server" in the top corner forever. Has anybody experianced the same thing?

It does this for me if i haven't kicked off an internet connection first. Even if my ADSL is connected, i still need to go to some web page prior to FLMP. Authentication i think.
