Soundproblems - mission 3 - HELP!!!

Due to the everlasting soundproblems (i cant install wma8_redist.exe get message that says "is not a valid win32 exe" no problem? with wma9 )
I always get stuck at mission 3

Do you have to play the missions to level up and to get access to the jumpgates and holes??
How can I finally start playing this game in a normal way?

(I tried about everything i could find on the web)

Try ramming the ships to get them to go.. it's been said to do that if you stuck. You can try it.

I always get stuck at mission 3, when I receive the order to “await orders” , nothing happends...

How can i finally pass this mission????

I've given up on the whole "SP" thing for now, and used the "Neutral Save", posted as a mod, to bypass the whole SP game - perhaps i'll go back once a patch has been released......

If you have installed the Fraunhoffer MP3 codec that comes with the Nimo Codec pack then you will have problems with the sound. The way that I got around it was to delete l3codeca.acm, and all similar named files (ie. l3codecx.ax etc.) from Windows\System32 and then run the file 'WMFDIST.EXE' from the REDIST folder on the CD.

What couses this bug is your sound codac. follow the steps on the sticky titled "easier fix for sound problems" that should fix it. At leist it worked for me.
