Semi-random CTD''s
Hi. New to these forums.
My problem is having CTD's in mission, after any missions, at dealers (commodities, equipment, AND ship), and occasionally on a save game load.
My specs:
AMD XP2400+ (~2.00Ghz FSB266 capable)
1Gb PC2700 DDR
Soyo KT400 MBD W/ CBIT integrated audio
Gainward Ti4800SE GF4
I have all the latest drivers for everything (VIA, Nvidia, CBIT, USB, etc.)
Changing BIOS settings actually worsens things except for adjusting the AGP aperture, and disabling or otherwise adjusting the audio hardware acceleration through dxdiag does not affect anything.
Downgrading the resolution ingame does help to an extent. Right now it's set for 1280x960.
The most comon crash is just before mission end or during a cutscene, although I haven't had the latter for a while. This also applies to other games and apps that are processor or memory intensive.
I'm about at my wit's end trying to tweak this to work, so any advice would be appreciated.
