What is the frequency of the outlets there? In america it's 60Hz, If its less in france then that can be your problem (sence it's and american game). Not a huge issue though, Don't worry about it.

If I had a nickel for every time someone told me that my idea for melting down coins to make a giant robotic parrot was a bad idea, I would have one kicka$$ giant robotic parrot.

Does the game still function at normal speed?

@Hairfarmer: good joke about the frequency. Would be interesting if every frequency in the PC would be multiplied from the outlet frequency even though it's very stable and reliable.

The frequency of the computer is based on the frequency of the outlet. You can change voltage and current but the frequency always stays the same. I know if you bring an american computer to england it would run slightly slower. I did pull that former post out of my ass though, sence he probibly got that computer in france and the iternal ocilators where synced to his outlets. I just don't like when I see a post with no reply for over 24 hours. Had to say somthing...

That would mean that things changed the past few years, because last time I checked clock frequencies were generated on board for example via a quartz.
Nowadays there are integrated clock chips that do the job. There are no special european or american versions of mainboards. By the way, the ATX connector has pins for DC voltage but none for frequecy, so i think the board would have to guess what the outlet frequency is ;-). Okay this world has hardware that is reliant on the power frequency just like mhh... washing machines.
But of course, if you can explain how todays computers are technically generating their clock frequency based on the outlets frequency, pls do so.
