Try deleting or moving your save game files.. there have been probs associated with those.

Have you tried the missing sound fix? If not you could try it.. But I would say reinstall just like the last guy here.

Thank you!!! I had (more or less) the same problem as Max_RAF. And indeed, removing the saved games fixed it. Strange but true.

I was already afraid that I would never see a Corsair woman again, and was contemplating giving up all earthly pleasures, give away all my belongings, start informing people the end-times are near etc. But - sacrificing some char lives was a small price to save universe, and so it was done.

Nevertheless it is an unpleasant idea that the game isn't entirely reliable to manage the saved games. I'm glad I know how to mod the newcharacter.ini-file, because I would hate to go back to fight Rogues in a starflier.

No problem! I just know that, that was some peoples problems so I always suggest that when people say they have used mods and try going back to the regular game.

Where can I find my savegames???

Post Sat May 24, 2003 9:27 am

In XP it is in

C:\Documents and Settings\(your system name)\My Documents\My Games\Freelancer\Accts\SinglePlayer

F*ck Digital Anvil and Microsoft!

The same happened to me again today, and this time deleting the savedgames didn't work. So I hope deleting the savedgames AND reinstalling does work.

These experiences nurture evil thoughts inside of me. About wishing terrible diseases upon those who created this program.Of course we aren't supposed to mod it, but sofar everything went fine, and now all of a sudden, this **** is going on. I wonder if some stupid Windows upate could have caused it.

No idea, but the extension is .fl so maybe you could do a search for it.

Yes, thank you. The problem seems to be solved now. I can't recall really what I had to do this time, but I did delete a file "restart.fl" several times.

Apparently the autosave option and the activation.deactivation of several mods, screw it up. I read that in the newest version of FLMM, which is not finished yet, there will be a way to deal with this; it will move the saved games to another folder or something like that.

Of course, my anger towards DA & MS was not justified, as this whole modding thing is unofficial. On the other hand, it could be argued that they should release an official mod-builder and -manager.
