scratchy static sound NOT SB live

Hi, Ive noticed a sound bug and searched the forum however my problem is the same as the static some people are getting after an hour or so of playing, only I do not have a SB card. Im using nVidia soundstorm integrated sound. after an hour or so of playing my dialogue and menu sounds are incorporating a static noise. reloading FL will take care of the problem temporarily but it will come back.
all other aspects of the game are fine; I.E. no bad performance or crashes. so far. i have an occasional stutter but thats probably normal.

Have you tried changing the mp3 codec with the instructions in the sticky post above?

I can do that, though i did not think it would apply to my problem. I am not having missing sounds, im having a static sound.

I am having the exact same problem as you, i also have an integrated sound card on an nforce based motherboard, do you get this problem with other games too?

I get a slight static sound, i figured it was part of the game... like the radio or something...

ok, i looked on nforcershq.com and someone told me that it was a driver issue that nVidia had yet to fix......

I run an nForce motherboard with on-board, Soundstorm, audio. I do not have any problems with staticy sound. Is your on-board sound the Soundstorm or the step-down?

i'm not sure what the on-board sound is called, it is the Abit NF7-S.

I also have this problem with my onboard soundstorm audio nothing I have tried fixes the static. I have an epox 8RDA+ mobo and winXP. Would be nice if we could figure out a fix.
