Det. 43.xx

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

Det. 43.xx

I cannot play the game if I use the 43.45 or the 43.51 det drivers. I start up the game, see the splash screen, then the screen goes black and the computer locks up. It works when I use older drivers but I REALLY need the newest drivers installed on my computer for certain projects that I'm doing. Of course, I REALLY need to play Freelancer too! I was wondering if anyone knew how to solve the problem with these drivers or if anyone knows were I can get newer ones.

Runs fine with the 43.45 on my machine too, no problems there, also ran fine on the old 30.82 drivers.

I forgot to say that I use win 98se. I'm glad it works on your systems but, what ARE your systems?

Seems some bugs can be found with 98SE my system is g4 TI 4200, 256 RAM, Vibra S/c 1.2 Ghz Celeron and people say that FL can run even under 500 MHz and using Tnt2 Cards..

You may not care to hear this, but if you are not using the 40.72 drivers then there's an excellent chance you're going to run into problems. WHQL certified basically means they work...any version after the latest WHQL certified drivers are BETA drivers folks. Back off to the 40.72 and you should be fine. This is right from the NVidia site today:

Windows XP/2000
Version: 43.45
Release Date: March 27, 2003

Windows XP/2000
Version: 41.09
Release Date: December 3, 2002
WHQL Candidate

Windows XP/2000
Version: 40.72
Release Date: November 8, 2002
WHQL Certified

Hallelujah, finally found a solution to my problem, I also run win 98SE and have the same problem, don't even get the microsoft splashy thing. Everything worked well until I decided to format my system, worst mistake in my life... So the old drivers should do the trick... hmmm

Thanks!
