Freelancer V1.0 Crashes

Hi All,

I recently installed Freelancer Full game V1.0.

The Game ran fine for a couple of days and then it
started to crash. Firstly it crashed during the movie
clips and then all the time.

I Un-installed the game and then started to search for
updates or help on the net. Now my PC starts to crash in
Internet Explorer too!!!

In the end the computer wouldn't boot and I had to
reinstall XP.

Two Days later and it's up and running again. So I played
Ghost Recon for five hours solid and no probs.

Re-installed Freelancer this afternoon, played fine for 5
hours or so and now my computer is crashing again.

Any Ideas???

Kev.

I believe we could have spared you the question about your machine specs, I don't know why your WINXP crashes too, maybe it's your hard drive that doesn't like FLserver crashing...

But anyway, the crashes in FLserver is common to a lot of people, we're waiting for the official server fix, we can't blame your computer for that, so many people has it crashing, we are not gonna say that all those people have to replace 3 or 4 of their devices just for that crashy server game that we don't know how to fix yet anyway.

Since my last posting I have tried all the more to get the crash problem sorted and, fingers crossed, I think I've done it.

I have gone back to the old nvidia drivers, the 41.09 version, and I've upgraded my ram. I now have 512MB Crucial RAM.

Now I run the game with my Norton Antivirus and Firewall software disabled and the game seems to work without trouble.

For interest I am running the following.

Win XP Home
Athlon XP 1800+
Abit KR7A-133R
512MB Crucial Ram
Gainward GeForce 3 Ti 500
