You Guys, Please help me! PLEASE!

I don't know what to do! I am having Freelancer withdraw! I downloaded FLMM, didn't like it, got rid of it, didn't restore back-ups (first mistake). Started up FL crashed on loadup, reinstalled, didn't work. Uninstalled then install, didn't work. Uninstalled again, then installed, STILL doesn't work, but now instead of crashing, it just locks up right before the movies start playing and I have to restart my computer. I tryed downloading FLMM and get the mods I had then activate them the deactivate them then restore back-ups, but, I CAN'T FIND THE MODS I WAS USING! AAARRGGGHH! I really really seriously need some help from you guys, you all know a lot more about FL than I do, so I thought I would ask you guys. I know I haven't been nice to some of you in the past but I am sorry for that and now I really need your expert advice in the matters at hand. Will you please help me fix Freelancer?

Yeah, but I did get a message, but now it doesn't even load the movies, it locks up before the movies start playing and I have to press the restart button on my comp.

Here ya go

I've used this trick many many times before and have had 100% good results. Just follow the steps and don't skip any.

@Heltak, you may want to use a restore point in WinXP. That does work most of the time.

You're welcome.

Ugh my problem is almost exact I'll copy it from the other topic since ours are REALLY similar theres no point in two.

To Site Admin : You may want to retest the FLMM or something.

Win98 and WinME need that registry fix to restore using DOS...WinXP utilizes restore points while Windows is open.

Your not tellin me how to use these RESTORE POINTS... *Knows nothing of Windows*

Stinger,

The thing you told me to do didn't work...it seems I didn't have it running .... and the earliest restore it had was from 2002 so I didn't do it...I was wondering if you had another was to fix it? Thnx anyway for your help.

Sorry heltak, I sometimes do not grasp the easiest of ideas thinking it's much deeper than it really is.

@Null, I'm sorry but that makes no sense to me for two reasons. One those are contimually purged as new ones are created. And two, it takes some serious guru knowledge to turn that feature off in Win98 since it's a DOS based command. Normally, it saves 5 dates and they seldom go back much farther than 1 or 2 weeks. Are you sure you followed the exact steps?

You must restart your machine in MS-DOS mode. When you do that it defaults to C:>Windows and you'll need to change directories (cd) to C:>Windows>Command Then type in "scanreg /restore" at that prompt.

Hi.

Well i have the same problem as soem people have had in this forum.
I have an bought Freelancer and installed the Flmmod ( or what the great mod is called ) but when i did one of those upgrades, i can´t remember wich one tho anymore, the game started to crash.

It loads the first 2 intro´s and then show the story intro. After that it loads the game. ( you know, the pic where it says Freelancer ). But right after that, when you think you will enter the menu, it crashes.

I Have tried like everything.

Upgraded all my drivers in everything
Formatted my hdd
Dloaded the new coedec sound thingie ( misspelled maybe )
Reinstalled Freelancer
Followed this thing you said here, but i use XP Pro

well i gave up a week ago except this last thing....
guess i will sjip the disc back to Microsoft and complain, but i think they not care, just sending me a new non-working copy of the game...

If someone has the conclusion, i would be very grateful

Windows XP Pro
Athlon XP2000 Mhz
Mainboard Soltek Fsb 333Mhz AGP 8X DDR400
512DDRAM ( the newest speed )
Xabre 400DDR DVI+TVout 64 MB AGP 8X
PCI128 inbuild soundcard ( hehe i know i need an upgrade )

I believe it has something to do with some version of these fllmod and the savegames you have on your computer.

copy them to another folder and try and launch the game again.
