Hacker?

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

Hacker?

Freelancer has been running well on servers, except last time the computer crashed for the first time ever. I relogged on and ran the character. Later another grouped with me and he crashed out too. Happened to him half a dozen times that I was getting paranoid. He created a new character and neither of us crashed. Later on he left and I carried on. Then I noticed my equipment kept changing and bells were ringing, so I left the server - Let you know which one in a while p - When I went to relog on the server menu I was disconnected and the search goes on in endless cyberspace; that is no servers come up at all on the global server. So I can't get in to see any games running.

I totally uninstalled FL - even the saved game of the campaign (which I had blundered anyway) and reinstalled. But the same happens... The password is the same though. Maybe I can change the password?

Anyway, I am aware these free servers can be hacked, so anyone know what I can do to get back onto multiplay, please? Once I get back in I'll remember the server name. If Hotshot/Maverick happens to read this then he might have this problem too :-(

Thanks

Nog

The master server crashed this morning (or overnight) at Microsoft. If your attempt to connect to it was in that time frame. Then try it again.

Your crashing problem may have been no more than a corrupted game save at the server end of things. Though you'll lose the character, it was probably a case of bad luck and nothing more. Try him out later anyways, it could have just been a fluke.

Though, if there have been enough cheating on a server, it could have been rendered unstable. (creating all sorts of havoc to online players)
