Where did all my saved games go?!!?

I don't know what's going on here but I've been playing Freelancer for about a week in sp got all the goodies, finished the story got to about lvl 38 and I went to play one day and all the sudden all my saved game files were just gone. I didn't do anything to the game, no mods, no playing around with files. I just played the game and one day the saves were just simply gone, and I played just that morning and by the evening they were just gone. Anyone else have this problem and if so how could I fix it.

..where exactly ARE the save game files? A friend has FL and we went and looked to try to copy his saves to another machine, and we were unable to find any of them....

For a minute there I had forgotten it was a *microsoft* game....I dont knwo how that happened, but it did.

Stupid place to put saved game files..but thats MS for you.

well I checked the My Documents\My Games\Freelancer\Accts directory and they weren't there, I didn't move or delete them seeing as I didn't know such a directory existed, so I guess I'm SOL.
