1: Undo everthing you have done.

2: make sure you have your sound card drivers up to date (latest dates 3/19/03)

3: Disable your Midi.

4: Use Det 41.09 Not version 43

5: Turn Video acceleration all the way up. Having it turned down turns essentially turns your card into Virge DX, meaning nothing will run.

6: Ensure all acceleration features are enabeled.

Now try it.

I just got the sound driver for my card its date is 3/21/03 and when I got to load it in it gave me some jazz about not find the Kernel32.dll file and not being able
to load it. (also i don't know if it matters but im downloading the game on a XP system then transfering it to a ME system via a CDRW would that make any problems?

PS thanks for your help

You cannot transfer an installed game from one system to the next. Especially across different OS versions.
Search your machine for Kernel32.dll. It should be found in one of windows systems directories. Ensure that it is not corrupted or missing.

If your Kernal32.dll is not initializing have you tried restarting your computer? And you said you are 'downloading the game' are you INSTALLING it or actually downloading it from the internet. :?

no no no I own the game its on a CD but the drivers and the new version of DirectX was downloaded on 1 PC (XP) and sent to another PC (ME) via a CDRW.
Also I've recently came across a GF4 Ti 4200 but think I'll stick with my ATI
because freelancer says it doesn't reconize it any thoughts?

When moving stuff from disc to HD to then be installed, make sure you remove the read-only property from the file(s).Right click on file(s) uncheck read-only and apply.

hey thank you I hadn't thought of that yet

I went out about a new sound card (this is Japan so they got a lot of stuff state
side hasn't heard of yet) its not sound blaster and the sound is fine and it loads
ok now I got figure out why a GF4 Ti 4200 is sticky on FL and plays smooth as
silk with games like Morrowind and WarCraft 3.
