I had a ATI 8500 but it died on me, now all I have is a
useless SIS 6326 card and my 2 SLI'ed voodoo 2's

I have tryed to get them to work with freelancer, but no
joy.
Things I have tryed..

You couldn't return and/or exchange your 8500? I don't think there is much you can do.

Post Wed Mar 26, 2003 1:32 am

Ive had it to long to return

Ahhh... that sucks man... I don't think FL will run with a Voodoo 2 unfortunately.

Post Wed Mar 26, 2003 3:14 am

It seems to scan them during startup but I cant seem to stop it from defualting back to my SIS primary card.
I have even tried using the Direct X Control panel util thats ment to force DX apps to use a card you pick (my voodoo 2's) but nope.
I think its just having a hard time letting go of my SIS card

LOL Have you not disabled the SiS?

Post Wed Mar 26, 2003 4:02 am

If I disable Direct 3D on the SIS card it also disable's it on my voodoo 2's
And if I disable the SIS card totaly then I have no desktop
But you have given me an idea..

Bump Bump

Post Wed Mar 26, 2003 1:22 pm

Why would disabling your SiS kill everything?

Post Wed Mar 26, 2003 1:24 pm

My SIS card is my primary card, if I disabled it in device manager then I wouldnt have a primary card.
You cannot use voodoo 2's for your desktop display.

Post Wed Mar 26, 2003 2:43 pm

The Voodoo 2's aren't DirectX 9, let alone 8 and probably 7 compatible -- they don't have DX compatible drivers, and the OGL->DX drivers for them suck.

Plain and simple, go buy a new real card.

Open your eyes..

Fact 1..
I had a ATI 8500 but it died on me

Fact 2..
I havent got enough money to buy a new card.

Oh and why will it run on my "DIRECTX 8.0" SIS card..
Oh and didnt I say I had drivers that support "DIRECTX 8.0" for my voodoo2?

Umm.. Funny how my SIS DX8 card will run the game.. and thats DX8 not 9.

Post Thu Mar 27, 2003 1:16 pm

That's because DX8 is needed to play the game single player and DX9 is only so you can play multi-player. But DX8 runs the game way better than 9 does... Ironic huh?

Post Thu Mar 27, 2003 1:18 pm

I wouldnt know lol, yet to play it

Hehe... wonder if a GeForce2 MX400 32MB would run this game? I have one of those laying around here if you might wanna buy it.
