OT: MSN Messenger for chat!

I run on Windows 2000 Pro here. I have just bought a new Headset with a Mic attached. I have downloaded MSN Messenger and installed it here. The latest version for Windows 2000 Pro is MSN Messenger 5.0. I wanted to try the new Headset with my firend who runs on Windows XP Pro. He has MSN Messenger 4.7 installed. Which is the latest version for XP Pro. The problem is while we can chat using the Keyboard. There is a compatability problem using the Mic for Voice Chat. Seeing as we had no problem previously when we both had Windows XP Pro installed running on the same MSN Messenger version. This make me wonder if the Voice chat can't be used with these two different versions of MSN Messenger. There is no way we can run the same versions on these two different operating systems also!

How did you manage that. Because MSN's website says that it's only for certain operating systems. And Windows XP is not one of them listed!

Windows XP uses Windows Messenger not MSN Messenger.

Why are you talking about MSN problems here? Incase you didn't notice, this forum is for FREELANCER technical issues...not anything you feel like. This thread should be moved to the off-topic section.

Thats why I stareted the title with "OT" meaning "Off Topic". Beause I know that some people here might use MSN for ingame chat!
