Game crashes continuosly,d3d error,please help.

Hello everybody,I'm posting beacause my Freelancer game crashes every few seconds,I can't get past mission 2 since it always crashes back to windows with the error report thingy.The error found on FLSpwe.txt regards d3d,here it is.

My specs are
Intel Pentium III 1 Ghz
Radeon 9700 pro
786 Ram
Windows Professional.
Anyone has any idea for fixing this crash? I've tried everything,deactivating AGP,changing desktop res,deactivating AA and antisotropic filtering,but with no use.Thanks in advance for any help.

I got directx9 and the new Catalyst installed.

Reinstall FL and Direct X 9.

I tried reinstalling both FL and Directx9,but nothing changed...any idea on how to solve this?

Then you might have a corrupt version of FL...have you tried returning it and getting another one? Those are some odd errors...

Sadly,no,the CD is fine,I tried it on a friends'computer and it works fine,no errors and no crashes...I guess it's something about the 3d graphic,but I cant exactly figure out what...if anyone else has any idea it is welcome.

And you have the updated Catalyst 3.2 drivers??

I mean your error says.. Unknown Camera Type (Chase Cam)... what the hell.. It also errors and says it can't buffer I'm beginning to think it's something to do with your Radeon.. do you have it overclocked or anything?

The catalyst 3.2 are installed and working fine,my Radeon 9700 pro isnt overclocked or anything,it works fine in every game,only Freelancer is giving a lot of problems,and I cant understand why...the problem that makes it crash seems the "invalid call",but I gont know why it happens.

dx8.cpp....hmm That seems to be a DirectX 8 file.. wonder what's up with that... That's in there a few times.

I too wonder what's in with those dx8 files,I installed directx9 both from the FL CD and from the microsoft website,so actually DX9 shuold be on my system,not 8.I guess I'll never be able to play FL,since nobody can guess what's causing this error,if anyone has any other idea just let me know.
