Give me back my sound!

I had problems with the sound (no speech sounds sometimes), and I found the "solution" to the problem in the readme file (delete some files, something from the registry etc.). But now I've lost the ambient sounds and ANY speech sounds at all!
Can someone tell me how to fix this or how to reverse the process of "debugging?"
PS those 3 rhineland fighters in mission 3 are still not attacking me. Uf!

Uninstalling and reinstalling should put it back the way it was. Just dont delete your Saved Games folder under My Documents.
