FL crashes to dekstop when loading

Well, i'm pretty frusturated at this point. I'm only level 8 so far because it seems that 1 out of ever 4 times i try to land, or when the game has to load, the game will minmize and cannot be opened again, and then crashes soon after.

My specs are as follows:

Athlon xp 1800+
512mb ddr333
geforce 3
sb live! x-gamer

I really have no idea what to do, this is really, really starting to tick me off as it's probably cut my play time in half. All help is greatly appreciated.

mate, do you get to the freelancer splash screen then minimise and crash after about 20 seconds? i have the same problem, heres the Freelancer log file with the last 3 entries:

notice the " *** ERROR: ArchDB::Get(3080208576) failed " line.

anyone have some sort of solution? it happened to me after i did the battleship realistic mod and tried to revert to normal, didnt work so i reinstalled Freelancer. Again, that failed, so i did a complete uninstall/install. Lo and behold, failure. i reinstalled my catalyst 3.2 drivers. pfft, nope. other than a complete format, whadda i do captain?

Hold on, just figured it out. its the savegames, move them out of the My games directory and everything loads perfectly.

I would crash the same way when taking off from planets...I still have a bunch of other gliches lol...but i fixed that one by taking 'Cut Scnene Detail' all the way down.

No, maybe i should have been more clear. It only crashes when i'm docking, and only at certain places. Right now, i am trying to finish a mission and every single time i go to dock, it crashes, so this time it's not totally random, somethign is causing it every single time. This is very frusturating, and i'm very close to just formatting.
