Cockpit view unstable

When I use the 3rd person view, everything works just fine.

However, using the 1st person view, the cockpit frame "jumps" around slightly - even when the ship is standing completely still!

In the Kinda-Odd department, in some ships, you can actually see your own tail fin if you loop upwards while using the thruster at max (e.g. in the Anubis (Order) Heavy Fighter). Of course, that's just one in a *long* line of graphical oddities DA should have cought before final release.

thats not your tail fin....thats susposed to be there its the top of the cockpit.
And it moves to simulate you being pushed around in your seat. Like with full thrusters or Cruise you see the top of the cockpit because the force of the ship is pushing you back.

Ok, I can see that argument.

However, if that were the case, I should be able to see more of the sky as well! As it is, whenever "you are pushed back in your seat", a tap drops down in the middle of the top of the screen. Not a very good illusion.

Maybe if they actually moved the viewpoint back a bit...

But then again, this is one part of the game engine that is absolutely pathetic: The view from the cockpit is *exactly* the same as in the 3rd person perspective! The only difference is the superimposed part (ship in one, cockpit in other). That's really sad.

Almost as sad as the "our prices NEVER change - everything is the same, always" economy of Freelancer.

Btw, does your cockpit "shake" as well? I did actually manage to make it stop shaking - but only if I come to a complete halt and disable mouse flight. Maybe this is supposed to be another fance effect? If so, it SUCKS! Anyplace I could get some stiffer springs for my chair? Or maybe get it welded to the hull?
