Serious Server Admin Issues that Need to Be Addressed

1. When a player deletes their character/account on a server it should only be FLAGGED as deleted on the server, not actually deleted. The player name SHOULD still show up in the account list(flagged as deleted) so that players who grief can't just delete their accounts when they are busted and before they can be banned.

2. Logging - There should be a option to log of all player transactions and all leveling. This way admins could look through and see when a player goes from level 1 to level 38 immediately. The log should also show trades between players as someone could legally go from 1 to 38 by being given money from someone else.

3. The memory leak or whatever causes the 24 hour crash to occur.

4. An easier way to kick people from the server, like being able to right click in the chat with player window to ban, delete, or kick.

i wouldn't call giving someone a million $ illegal. takes a lot out of the game but i know when my friend start playing multiplayer with me i'll give them money and set them up. i'd rather do that then wait around so they can join me, and what else are you gonna do with that money? unless you waste 50 7k+ torps/mines/missles each time you go out you can easily make more money then you'll ever need.

He didn't say that giving a large amount money was illegal (if i understand him correctly). He said that he wanted a log for transaction so that levelling up from money transfers could be separated from other ways of levelling up (which could be illegal)

They definanately need to rethink the dedictated server. It is the worst server I've ever delt with.

*Virtually no server variables/settings
*Horrid player account management/kick/ban system
*No feedback - Logs, user connection info, kills etc
*Stability
*Chat interface
*Settings changes require reboot

agreed. this is the worst server client i've ever seen. i was hoping for somehting along the lines of the NWN DM client. so i can create things for my players during a game and chat with them easier. so i could setup pirate raids and such to keep it lively. right now i just turn it on and park myself somewhere to try to watch ingame

What the server client needs is some sort of RCON like CS. We have a server set up on my friends machine and sometimes I'm the only one of us on there and it would be handy to have some sort of control.
