Linux server?

Want help in running a persistent server? Want to setup a gaming session? Look no further!

Linux server?

Forgive me if this has been asked. I couldn't find it anywhere.

I've probably answered the question myself simply realizing Microsoft published the game, but has anyone heard of any plans for a Linux server? I've got a Linux coloc box that's a third the price of a Win32 box with twice the bandwidth. I really don't want to bring up a Win32 box over there......

Thanks for any help!

It would be too stable.

I had a try running the flserver in wine through a vnc session on one of my FreeBSD boxes, but unfortunately doesnt seem to work. It bombs with a nice little "Freelancer-Server has encountered a problem, and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." windows error message.

Has anyone else had any success getting flserver to run in wine, or one of its derivatives?
